Early College

Airport High School Early College Program
 
Early College students take college courses while they are attending high school. Students are dually enrolled in high school and college. They receive credit for the college courses they take on both their high school and college transcripts.

Benefits of College-Level Study in High School:

  • Develop the study skills, time management skills, and discipline needed for success in college and beyond.
  • Increase your chances of getting into desires colleges.

AHS Early College Dual Enrollment Application Process
Retest to be Tested Deadline: February 7, 2018
Test Dates: Feb. 1, 2, 5, 6, 7    
Application Completion Deadline (including Testing) is: February 9, 2019.

STEP 1-Complete “Request to be Tested for Early College” Form at the link below. Deadline to Request Testing: January 30, 2018

Students who complete the "Request to be Tested Form" will be scheduled to take the required entrance exam during the testing period below in the AHS Media Center. Exam Dates: Feb. 1, 2, 5, 6, 7

STEP 2-Complete the online “MTC  Dual Enrollment Application.”

STEP 3Printcomplete, sign, and return the following 3 forms (use INK, no “Whiteout,” “scratch-outs” or “mark-throughs”).
These forms are included in the online MTC Dual Enrollment Application" at the link above. Copies are also available in the AHS Main Office.
 
1-2018-19 Lottery Tuition Assistance Waiver Form
2-Dual Enrollment Agreement Form
3-Dual Enrollment Verification of Lawful Presence Form
along with
Copy of PICTURE ID (SC Driver’s License, SC State ID or AHS ID)
AND
Copy of Birth Certificate (long form)
 
STEP 4-Take the SAT ACCUPLACER entrance exam (reading/math) and Writing Sample on AHS Campus and receive eligible scores.
You MUST have your social security number to take these test (required by MTC). Exam Dates: Feb. 1, 2, 5, 6, 7
Details are listed on the "Retest to be Tested Form."
Reminder: Test Score Results will be emailed to the address you provided on the "Request to be Tested Form."

 

STEP 5-Students who meet all eligibility requirements will be notified and must participate in Early College Advisement meeting with Ms. Bledsoe before March 1st. Early College course preferences will be selected during this meeting.
