Lexington Two students selected for prestigious Boys and Girls State

WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Several Lexington Two high school students have been selected for the prestigious Palmetto Boys and Girls State program.  

The weeklong summer programs, sponsored by the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary, offer a range of leadership and citizenship activities that emphasize the workings of government and politics. Participants have completed their junior year and are selected based on leadership, scholarship, character and service, among other criteria.

Participants from Lexington Two high schools are:

Palmetto Boys State

Brookland-Cayce: Adam Fingerlin, Caleb Hunnicutt, Jackson Marcum

American Legion Auxiliary Girls State

Airport: Autumn Jackson, Laney Powers

Brookland-Cayce: Claire Fingerlin, Caitlin FitzGerald, Reid Riddle, Jade Watford (alternates: Carli Baker, Megan Peachey, Mary Shaffer)

This year’s programs are set for June 10-16 -- the boys at Anderson University, the girls at Presbyterian College.
