The Varsity Orchestra at Airport High School and the Honors Choir at Brookland-Cayce High have earned top honors in Performance Assessment events in recent days.
Airport's Varsity Orchestra was awarded the highest Superior rating during the SCMEA Concert Performance Assessment this past weekend. The rating is described as “Reserved for uncommonly exceptional groups that stand out as having performances that are nearly flawless. This is the highest possible rating and honor to receive."
Brookland-Cayce's Honors Choir also brought home Superior ratings in performance and sight reading during a SCMEA High School Choral Performance Assessment for Midlands groups, held March 26.
The performance assessments allow students and directors an opportunity to perform for state and nationally known adjudicators for comments and ratings on prepared pieces.
