Airport recognized as State Gold Council for 8th consecutive year

WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Airport High School brought home top honors from the recent annual state convention of the South Carolina Association of Student Councils.

 

Among the recognitions:

  • Airport was recognized as a State Gold Council for the eighth consecutive year. Criteria includes council involvement, council organization, and projects throughout the year in school service, community service, and school promotion and spirit. 
  • Airport received first place awards for two of its individual service projects: Eagle Soar Milkshakes and The Eagle Pantry.
  • Breanna White, council member and Airport’s student body president, received the Terry McCoy Leadership Hall of Fame award, recognizing an individual’s leadership attributes including teamwork, humility, courage, respect, responsibility, and passion.

 

The state convention, held March 8-10, drew hundreds of student leaders from across South Carolina for workshops, featured speakers, networking, and other activities.
