WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Airport High is inviting families in the community to enjoy some Halloween fun on Wednesday, October 28, at its annual Trick-or-Treat Lane.
The school event, a favorite community tradition for more than 20 years, will be a drive-thru from 5:30pm-7pm on the school campus, 1315 Boston Ave., West Columbia.
Trick-or-treaters will stay in their vehicles and drive to different stations around campus as Airport High clubs, along with community members and organizations, hand out candy. All children ages 12 and under are welcome at the drive-thru event for trick-or-treating.
The event will begin at the auditorium and wrap up near the cafeteria. A map of the driving route will be shared closer to the event. All candy stations will be socially distanced, and those handing out candy will wear masks and gloves.
Teacher Daniel Bailey said the school worked to keep the community tradition going this year, adding health and safety guidelines amid COVID-19. The event, which last year attracted more than 1,000 visitors, is presented by Airport’s Student Government.
“This school cares about our community,” Bailey said.
