Student Council brings home top honors

WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Airport High School brought home top honors from the recent 85th annual Southern Association of Student Councils.


Among Airport’s individual and council honors presented at the convention, held October 25-28 in Louisiana, are:

 

  • 1st Place: Leadership Outreach and Mentoring Program, for Reading Buddies
  • 1st Place: Print Media Project, student council newsletter
  • 2nd Place: Kallie Richbourg, Speech Contest, “Leadership under Construction”
  • 2nd Place: Photography Contest, Edited Photo

"I could not be more proud of the kids at Airport High School,” said Airport teacher and student activities director Daniel Bailey.  “They continue to strive in their rigorous coursework, serve their school and change their communities for the better. These awards confirm that what we do here has an impact far beyond just our building.”
