The Talon Award is about more than recognition, it’s about impact.

Each month, Airport’s Teacher Cadets review nominations submitted by students and staff to recognize a faculty or staff member who goes above and beyond. To make the selection completely about the words and impact shared, all identifying information is removed before the Teacher Cadets choose the recipient.

This month, Mr. Kelly stood out among nearly 25 nominations. One student shared that Mr. Kelly teaches “not only school lessons, but also life lessons,” and credited him with providing guidance through adversity, preparing for college, and ultimately helping them become a better person.

That is the kind of impact that lasts long after a student leaves the classroom.
